Three weeks into 2006...Three months since James has returned from deployment. How come THESE three months have flown by, but the six during deployment had its draggy days?!!!

The visits home since deployment have been so great! Two weeks in November: at first it was like trying to cram six months of life into two weeks, but then it got to be more fun doing nothing and just sit back to watch Noah and Jonah do their things. (The garage is clean though...) We celebrated Thanksgiving and visited friends and family in Orange and L.A. counties.

We missed watching the Chargers-Raiders game together. James thought he was scheduled to return to Pearl Habor on Monday, Dec. 5, but after church he checked his reservation and realized he was supposed to be on the 5 p.m. flight that day!!!! So we scrambled to do a load of laundry and get him packed. We get to the airport's Commuter Terminal and were told he wasn't booked on any of those flights....whaaat?!! He was on a regular flight out of Terminal 1. So we had to rush over there. He got his flight, only to be delayed in SFO for a couple of hours.

December visit was much more calm -- but shorter; a long weekend over New Years. Noah and I decorated with Christmas stockings and a little tree, but we celebrated Christmas on Dec. 30...the boys were very good about waiting until daddy got home to open their Christmas presents -- and all the presents were for the boys anyways. I stuffed the stockings on Dec. 29 and Noah was really surprised, because he would take a peek from time to time but there wasn't anything there before. (I'm so sneaky...)

Here we are at MLK Day. James was home this past weekend. And it was a nice weekend; the rain that was forecasted didn't really happen. We took the boys to the Birch-Scripps Aquarium. There was some football, but as Noah said recently "the Chargers lost," so football wasn't as interesting; Playoffs or no playoffs...There was also a Korean drama to finish watching.
