We found this park that features a Dennis the Menace theme; wood statues of Dennis and his friends greet us at the entrance. I'm not sure of the history of Dennis the Menace' creator in this area, but it's a popular park! (I found it while reading the tourist information on the back of my free AAA map.)
The park features this REAL train engine that's there for the climbing. The boys are really into trains and we recently saw The Polar Express on back to back weekends on TV. So you can imagine their faces when they saw this train and kids climbing all over it; Noah wasted no time. Other things at the park are a suspension bridge, garden maze, climbing structures and slides for all ages, and a way-cool climbing wall.
We make this our weekly family outing. It's free.
